Member involvement is critical to ensure SLAC is run by and for the community. Members are entitled to access SLAC facilities, contribute to SLAC decision-making, regular updates and notice of meetings and events.
Anyone participating in programs or using SLAC facilities is encouraged to become a member and pay relevant fees.
Additional fees may be charged for the use of some equipment, facilities or services.
Membership is current from the date of payment to June 30 of that year and is renewed annually.
Membership fee is $5; the fee is reviewed and endorsed annually at the Annual General Meeting.
SLAC Members must agree to support the organisational aims and purposes and conform to its rules.
Members have the right to vote at Annual General Meetings and any Special General Meetings. Members can be nominated on the Committee of Governance and any working sub-committees.
The nomination form must be completed and signed by the nominator and another member of SLAC; the nominee must sign the nomination consent form before it is submitted for the elections during the AGM.
Full financial members of SLAC may on request inspect free of charge the register of members; the minutes of general meetings and subject to Committee’s approval other relevant records of the organisation.
The members willing to inspect the records must complete the Request to Inspect Records form, sign the declaration and forward the completed form to the Secretary.
Full financial and life members of Springvale Learning and Activities Centre Inc. have the right to initiate a grievance procedure as per SLAC Rules 25-29.
This Grievance Form applies to SLAC members who, having exhausted the possibility of the informal complaint resolution process, wish to escalate the matter and lodge a formal grievance.
The members willing to lodge a formal grievance must complete this form, sign member’s declaration and forward the completed form and declaration to the Secretary.
